Stockton's rich music tradition can be enjoyed from the campuses at University of the Pacific and Delta College to the grassy lawns of Victory Park, from historic theatres to popular restaurants. Whether its classical or jazz, pop or old-fashion rock 'n' roll, you'll find plenty from which to choose.
One of the oldest continuously performing orchestras in California, the Stockton Symphony draws a strong following of music lovers from the greater Stockton area. Music director Peter Jaffe conducts both classical and pops performances. Most performances are held at the Atherton Auditorium at San Joaquin Delta College, but once a year at Pops & Picnic concert is held at the Alex G. Spanos Center at the University of the Pacific.

Stockton Symphony Association
The Stockton Chorale provides singers of all ages and abilities the opportunity to experience the art of choral singing. Drawing singers from the greater Stockton region, the Chorale has been presenting high quality performances of a varied repertoire for over 60 years. Originally associated with the University of the Pacific and San Joaquin Delta College, the Chorale is now an independent non-profit which performs at various locations around the greater Stockton area. The Stockton Chorale usually holds rehearsals at Delta College, while the Stockton Youth Chorale for grades 3 - 8 rehearses at Don Riggio School. The Chorale is regularly adding singers to their rosters.

The Bob Hope Theatre includes a number of musical stars in its program of shows. Among the recent performances were Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band and The Beach Boys. For 2018 the lineup includes Roger Daltrey with Band Members Of The WHO, The Wonder of Elvis - The Tribute, and Zep Live!. The 2000-seat theatre boasts a state-of-the-art sound system.

Bob Hope Theatre
Check their website for music possibly returning in 2021. Whirlow's Tossed and Grilled quick service restaurant features live music every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Recent performers have included The Penetrators Groove Band, Joni Morris, Big Ray Blues Band, Cruzin Blues, Miss Lizzie and Her Cadillac Kings, and Mokelumne Crossing.

Whirlow's Tossed and Grilled
2021 dates TBA. Stockton's Concerts in the Park are held during the summer months at Victory Park. This popular venue attracts thousands of Stockton music lovers. The concerts are free. Many spectators bring picnics and lawn chairs.
